Reaching this point means that you have successfully completed the On-Ramp course at either CrossFit Elviria or another CrossFit affiliation.

Now you will be introduced to the work out of the day, or WOD, and, believe you me, any CrossFitter will tell you that this is what CrossFit is all about.

Karl will lead the CrossFit classes that follow the same sequence all over the globe.

Each class will start with a warm up, stretch and mobility. Once the muscles are safely warmed up, we will move swiftly on to the strength and technique part of the session, which will give you the chance to practise new movements and also get you ready for the WOD.

Now the fun really starts: The WOD - the penultimate part of the session before the warm down. It is usually anywhere from 3 minutes to 30 minutes, depending on the challenge of the day. WODs normally follow two patterns:

1)  As many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in a set time. E.g. Cindy (Benchmark WOD) - 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 air squats - AMRAP in 20 minutes.

2)  A set task as quickly as possible. E.g. Fran (Benchmark WOD) - 21 thrusters, 21 pull ups, 15 thrusters, 15 pull ups, 9 thrusters and 9 pull ups for time.

There will be a new WOD everyday which will be constantly VARIED, of high INTENSITY and using FUNCTIONAL movements. It is designed to push your strength, cardio-respiratory fitness and endurance to the limit. You’re only competing against yourself and with this method of training you can only get fitter.

All WODs can be scaled to each person’s needs and they use elements from Olympic lifting, gymnastic movements and mono-structural activities like skipping rowing and running.

All WODs and scores will be recorded and uploaded frequently on to the site.
